This was a chance to stop looking at the drawing so much and focus mainly on the reference image. The old technique of not looking down to break the habit of refinement and using hard lines to create shapes - hence why the proportions a bit crazy. The drawing as a result was more intuitive and once I had a linear image, I decided to then apply tone in a quick but true to the reference picture within the proportions created. A selection of works from my Final Major Project. The theme was based on the London 2012 Olympics.
It was inspired by various online and printed media sources such as the Guardian newspaper, the Sun, newser.com and Daily Mail online. I then used the key message of the article or statement and created imagery to portray this. There is quite a wide scope for stories within the Olympics as every athlete obviously has their own sport, background and views ahead of London 2012.

This was a response to the controversy of Dwayne Chambers being found guilty of substance abuse. The concept was based on how an athlete should treat their body like a temple, in this case the temple included performance enhancing drugs in order to win. The background was meant to emphasize the stress that then ensued and I manipulated the formula symbol for the drug to include LDN 2012.
