A selection of works from my Final Major Project. The theme was based on the London 2012 Olympics.
It was inspired by various online and printed media sources such as the Guardian newspaper, the Sun, newser.com and Daily Mail online. I then used the key message of the article or statement and created imagery to portray this. There is quite a wide scope for stories within the Olympics as every athlete obviously has their own sport, background and views ahead of London 2012.
Dogs Home from Afghan
Based on an article about the Army were preparing to send sniffer dogs back to Britain from Afghanistan to help out with the Olympics.
Bolt faster than a Cheetah
Shanaze Reid (BMX on the mind)
This was a response to the controversy of Dwayne Chambers being found guilty of substance abuse. The concept was based on how an athlete should treat their body like a temple, in this case the temple included performance enhancing drugs in order to win. The background was meant to emphasize the stress that then ensued and I manipulated the formula symbol for the drug to include LDN 2012.
